Safety is a primary concern for the faculty and staff Crofton Elementary. Please follow a few specific rules when visiting or volunteering at our school. Thank you for your cooperation in our efforts to keep the children safe.
All persons entering the building must SIGN IN at the main office. Employees of Anne Arundel County Public Schools must show their AACPS badges. All others must show valid PHOTO ID such as a state-issued driver's license.
Crofton Elementary uses the V-Soft program by Raptor to register visitors and volunteers. V-Soft searches registries across the U.S. to screen for registered sex offenders. The first time that you come to the school, an office secretary will scan your driver's license and enter your information into a school-specific database. On subsequent visits, you must show your driver's license to an office secretary when you enter the school.
Visitors and volunteers will receive a printed badge with your name and photograph from the secretary during check-in. Please wear this badge at all times in the building. On your way out of the school, stop by the office and SIGN OUT with one of the secretaries.For more information about V-Soft, see the manufacturer's website at http://www.raptorware.com.
NOTE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS (teacher conferences, Halloween, holiday parties, etc.): Visitors and volunteers who enter the building for major events will sign in with teachers at the classrooms.
All volunteers must view the County safety video before working in any Anne Arundel County Public School. This includes classroom helpers, chaperones on field trips, volunteers for school functions such as Book Fair, volunteers for PTA-sponsored activities such as assemblies, and volunteers for other out-of-school activities that involve Crofton Elementary students such as the 5th grade trip to Arlington Echo.
NOTE: If you viewed this video last year, you do NOT need to do so again this year.
The video will be shown during Back to School Night on September 2. The video will also be available for viewing during regular school hours. Simply inquire at the main office when you check in, and an administrator will start the program.
