A Note for Visitors and Volunteers

Safety is a primary concern for the faculty and staff Crofton Elementary. Please follow a few specific rules when visiting or volunteering at our school.

Sign In and Sign Out with the V-Soft System

All persons entering the building must SIGN IN at the main office. Employees of Anne Arundel County Public Schools must show their AACPS badges. All others must show valid PHOTO ID such as a state-issued driver's license.

Crofton Elementary uses the V-Soft program by Raptor to register visitors and volunteers. V-Soft searches registries across the U.S. to screen for registered sex offenders. The first time that you come to the school, an office secretary will scan your driver's license and enter your information into a school-specific database. On subsequent visits, you must show your driver's license to an office secretary when you enter the school.

Visitors and volunteers will receive a printed badge with your name and photograph from the secretary during check-in. Please wear this badge at all times in the building. On your way out of the school, stop by the office and SIGN OUT with one of the secretaries.

NOTE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS (teacher conferences, Halloween, holiday parties, etc.): Visitors and volunteers who enter the building for major events will sign in with teachers at the classrooms.

The Volunteer Video

All volunteers must view the County safety video before working in any Anne Arundel County Public School. This includes volunteers in the classroom, volunteers for school functions such as Book Fair, volunteers for PTA-sponsored activities such as assemblies, chaperones on field trips, and volunteers for other out-of-school activities that involve Crofton Elementary students such as the 5th grade trip to Arlington Echo.

NOTE: Even if you have viewed this video in a previous year, will need to do so again this year. The CES administration is collecting up-to-date data about who has viewed this video.

The video is available for viewing every school day. Simply inquire at the main office when you check in, and an administrator will start the program.
